Only you
You're the saving grace,
the one that made fate about face.
My heart, cold and still,
now flutters like a butterfly on a window sill,
longing for your mere presence,
to sink back into your holy essence.
I love your touch, and I love your smile,
but mostly I love the way you walk a mile
in everyone else's shoes, so much innocence
wrapped in the beauty angelic recompense.
You have shown me, the world can still thrive,
simply by you being alive.
If heaven doesn't exist, and life truly does end,
I want to thank you, for being my best friend.
It hurts to see so much trust,
in a world consumed by selfish lust.
But this to you I do vow,
I'll fly with you someday, somehow.
