Sunday(no rest for man)

Sunday, they say, God decided to take a break,
no chance of forcing him awake.
Deaf ears he did turn,
ignoring mankind as they did burn.
"Flood the world" was his roar,
the heavens had never seen God angry before
so it began, his tedious work,
creating and ignoring misery with a smirk.
Sodom, that wicked city with her twin worse,
did receive the first curse,
destruction and death, so causally given,
no hope or time to be forgiven.
War is in our bloods so they say,
I wonder where we got the notion, was it they?
Killing our neighbors in His name,
in hopes of gaining heavenly fame.
Maybe we should take a note from His book,
take a nap and let the world be forsook.
