Broken Heart

She gave him a tender kiss upon his unshaven cheek,
for his sweet and thoughtful words,
it was the first time she heard him speak.  
He was the only one who paid attention,
the only one that showed he cared.
He listened to her with an open mind,
and wiped away her tears.
He took the time to help mend her broken heart,
and free it from despair.
This man she knew so little about,
he showed her that he cared.
