Life's First Act : Humility

we can humble ourselves now
or time will humble us later
Mother Nature blesses us with our gifts
Father Time slowly takes them away
for humility...true humility
is one of the founding pillars of wisdom
the other is respect

thus goes the divine order of things:

one cannot have wisdom
without respect
and one cannot have respect
without humility

no one is getting off this 3rd
rock from the Sun without some scars
and the shadow self intrinsically
knows that we have to at least learn the basics
of the Satan two-step to co-exist
in this...realm

so it presses heavily upon the id
nightly..daily...yearly
and rightly so
as it swings that double edged pendulum
disemboweling our fraudulence
one dream at a time

yeahhh

no one can hold us accountable like our demons
we can tell the world whatever we want
believe whatever we want
pray to whoever or whomever we want

but every time we close our eyes
we see another 'set' of eyes peering at us
from the dark recesses of our mind
mock applauding our
latest performance for the masses

a merciless jury indeed

watching without empathy or sympathy
as we cry in the pitch of blackness
vomiting up our falsities
exposing our frailties
smearing them on the floor as
a portrait of our failures
humbling us one grain at a time
crumbling second handed ideologies
shattering {h}our glass houses
made of sand..yet moved by sand

ironic

unrelenting...
drowning out the wails of
our unrepentant

as Father Time exacts his toll with interest
and penalties accrued
upon the Judas of the Spirit
