“ Go Silent Go Deep” the title of a war movie where
Curd Jurgen, an actor, who looked good in Nazi uniform
but somehow was a hero who did the right thing
Alone in the house and less heroic, he tried to go deep
into his mind, pieces of shrapnel from an u boat, dead sailors about, until a creature took pity and ate them
It's semi-dark down here, the bottom is filled, in-digested, and deleted poems, he tries to find himself
a fish not seen since childhood.
He swims in the shallow and picks up small crabs easier
to write about, tiny claws try to bite his hand he puts them down, perhaps another day.
Big sigh, he is 84 and still tries to find himself, not bitter laugh to himself, the sense of irony keeping him
amused on the journey to infinity
