She Was More

The woman you made love to on August 5, 2023 in the Dallas Crowne Plaza was more than what you felt in her embrace.

She was a promise whose mother was giddy at her approaching birth.
She was a child who cried at her father’s absence.
She was her grandfather's princess who danced naked in her room each night dreaming of a prince charming.
She was a teen whose heart was broken when her first love found another.
She was a young woman escaping pain by giving herself over to desires of the flesh.
She was a young woman hurt by love but who chose to love again.
She was a woman learning to carry hope with her brokenness.

At midnight when your lusts poured into that woman, were you able to love all that she was and had ever been? Were you able to love her at all?

Author's Note
I took a home pregnancy Tuesday and it was positive. I wrote this while thinking of that night spent with the husband of another woman, and the father of another child.
