Euphoria and Echoes

Whole day,
What a feeling of an all-time high,
Sunshine and blue sky,
Laughter across the field where kids play.

Surrounded by people you adore,
Attention at bay even when topics were a bore.
Euphoric-filled day is our perfect score,
Too much, too little, but still wanting more.

Craved that mellow, grassy, irresistible bitter tea,
Among choices, but that’s all you see.
Till punched by this century’s peddler,
Scent of Japanese fare in this city, quite popular.

Wait, aren’t you too happy?
Here’s the universe sending you down a road a bit bumpy.
Came across a phantom of the past,
That fans the flames of bygone angst.

How fast your face’s smirk turned jaded,
Why such a beautiful day overturned by someone’s blunder.
In that moment, would the world stop spinning if we prayed,
I wonder?

Author's Note
This was based on a fun filled day with a friend. Its more of inside joke of what happened that day where we bumped into an insensitive person of her past (who she used to look up to, but ending up a total creep).
