An Early Morning Memory
Diary entry from August 10, 2023
As I came out of a deep sleep, I asked, “Do I snore?”
My lover laughed as he yawned. “No, it’s more like the purr of a kitten.”
“Great," I said. “Nothing as sexy as sleeping next to a feral cat.”
He smiled and touched my arm. “I like hearing it because I know you’re still here.”
“That’s a strange thing to say,” I said rolling toward him.
In the morning light I could see that his eyes were fixed on mine. I knew he was thinking of my addictions, reckless past, and the death of mother. Yes, I’d contemplated making an early exit, but those thoughts were far away now.
“I’m afraid you’re stuck with me alive and well for a while,” I said.
I rested my head on his chest, remembering the night before. My hand drifted down to his flaccid cock. It felt warm.
He was very quiet. As he got firmer, I remembered the lip trill exercise I learned in voice classes as a child.
As my lips buzzed against his heat, I thought they sounded like a purring cat.
