A New Chapter

With every waking step, I feel a shiver
through my bones. A new chapter is
beginning - don’t ask me how I know,
I just do.

I believe I owe this feeling to him.
The one that sparked a new hope within
me, giving me something to look forward
to.

It’s early days, I know that, and he
is unaware of the stance
he has placed on my scratched
heart.

But hope continues, despite the
unknowing, it lingers, and festers.
I can feel it growing, something
beautiful, and new.
