Marianne
Morbid maelstrom of thoughts
Anchor to the dismal catatonic despair
Reflected in your woebegone eyes
In addition to your empty stare
Angst lingers on with every breath
Nonpareil is your endless pain
Nonetheless, your brittle soul
Eagerly awaits to be saved...

Author's Note
This was my take at an acrostic poem that I wrote for a friend I had a few years ago, who suffered from bipolar disorder. Unfortunately, I haven't heard from her anymore.

Welcome to the family. This poem spoke to me as I suffer from bipolar disorder. I feel that you expressed the desolation of depression very well.
I enjoyed this.

I'm glad you like my poem. And that you could relate to it. And yes, Mental health, many times is overlooked at, and it should be addressed more. I work in mental health as a CNA. It takes people with a lot of empathy to work with people that are struggling with mental health issues.

Oh man. Read my latest poem. I didn't write a backstory, but this poor Pakistani girl is with me fighting for her children and standing up to an abusive family by herself while shes being thrown away by her husband. With just friends at her corner. The first day I cared for her, she cried all day and couldn't accept her love was just treating ger like a business transaction. The third day has been truly miraculous. For your poem, they may be waiting for some strength, and I agree they should find it. This is so relevant right now it's creepy, I love it

Thank you so much. I wrote this poem many years ago, just didn't know where to share it. I'm glad I found this portal for allowing me to do so.
