August
I never look forward to the school year.
To new faces and a ballad of shallow questions.
This time was supposed to be different.
I was excited for the schedule change,
Because then I’d see more of you.
But the weeks closed in and things changed,
We changed.
Until the we no longer existed,
And I was back where I started
Alone, unprepared for the year to come.
To new faces and a ballad of shallow questions.
This time was supposed to be different.
I was excited for the schedule change,
Because then I’d see more of you.
But the weeks closed in and things changed,
We changed.
Until the we no longer existed,
And I was back where I started
Alone, unprepared for the year to come.
