Mother’s Day

You know I love flowers so you bought me flowers
But you didn’t know I’d be hungry after working
You blamed me for not preparing ahead
even though you scrambled to get a gift on Mother’s Day
I tidied up the house for your family to come over
You let your mom cook the food she wanted
And I didn’t get to see my mom that day
there was no time left to celebrate other moms

Did you see the mother in me?
