Big Big Love

I am jealous of your non fussed style,
How you blossom in the simplicity of family, home,
your yellow brick by-pass mile,

I love the joy that you find in the mundane,
Hearing gossip about your boys,
giggling about getting caught in the rain.

I am jealous of the peace in you I see,
Lord of the Garden,
Queen of our unknowable sea.

Flowers and family grown with care,
Patience and grit,
a sprinkle of flare.

With tongue in cheek, I love this bear to poke,
 She always takes the bait,
but is never the joke.

And you are weapons grade irascible,
Just mention Trump
or refuse to put a mask on!

And I hope it’s easy for you to see,
me in you ,
coz I see you in me,

 I am stubborn,
prone to pride,
me and you side by side,

But like you I can rally,
we never refuse to try,
Tattooed on both our hearts, never say die.

So thank you Mother for the happy days,
For being you, your simple ways,

And as sure as the stars wheel above,
Know that you are the source of Big, Big love.
