And You Still Don't Understand
Unwrapped in my vices
Bare carcass, bone out to dine in
Unabashed I recoil
To prevent old habits from surfacing
They love to pretend
To act out what I dream of
They lament, defend
What I had never sought
Naive is their gesture
An invitation to relive what I wish to escape
How brave and noble
To make the choice all for me
All while I am not around
They continue to not ask what I want.
