Fair Medusa

Fair Medusa

I can see that you are miserable.
You can see I am miserable too.
All around me are stone statues
yet you have allowed for me to look upon you.

Perhaps it is that we share this pain inside,
your reason for not turning me to stone.
Maybe within me your senses are reminded
of qualities you also own.

Then let us leave this curse Fair Medusa!
Within this existence you do not belong.
You became a victim to the gods.
It is they who have done you wrong!

I offer my hand if you will take it
and I say let us put this place behind.
Perhaps the beauty we have both lost
together in each other we will once more find.....

and if the gods get angry on Mt. Olympus
then let them be angry!
We will not fear.
Time is now at hand when they must see
their own injustices made clear.
