Out of line, no rhyme

I try to keep away from writers
Too wrapped up in themselves
Who toss Shakespeare to and fro
To denote intellectual superiority
And feel the need to educate
All the others who feel just as strongly
But lack command of the King's English

I try to keep away from guitar players
Who have mastered one genre
And ridicule those who break out
Of the box and create hybrids of
Many forms learning something new
in the process

I try to keep away from political agents
Whose main concern is polls, fundraising prowess,
And black tie dinners accounting
for all the good done
While more minority youth
Are incarcerated
And WIC programs are eliminated

And then I realized that
I am keeping away from so much of
What my education taught to me to do!
