Stars

Abram became Abraham
A stranger in a strange land
For you must die before you die
Whose seed was promised
As the stars of heaven
As the sands of the sea
Not the plants of the garden
Or the beasts of the field
Deep calleth unto deep
The sea above, the sea beneath
As above, so below

Tis said men would enter cathedrals
Invariably from the west
Traveling west to east
Toward the rising sun/son
Leaving land of shadows behind
But from the Garden eastward
Came but to the land of Nod
And whence came Magi but the east
Following westward star
To the east vagabond and fugitives
To the west the mysteries
Strangers and pilgrims
Sojourners in a strange land

Following stars
Like ancient mariners on the sea
All is written in the stars
Set for signs and seasons
When did sun become the calendar
Replacing the phases of the moon
Men no longer watch the skies
Wandering lost among the stars
What is knowledge
No ledge
Limitless
And yet, here we are

Jacob, heel catcher
"Father" of the "zodiac"
Transmuter of herds and flocks
Spotted and ring straked
Setter of pillars and poles
Whose pillow was a "stone"
Climber of ladder of nine rungs
Died Jacob, reborn Israel
After his wrestle with God and angel

Do we seek dreams
Visions of the night
Do we seek to die before we die
Or afraid of death, only to live
Life is misquoted, rewrote
Conditioned, learned by rote
We were born into a system
Taught to seek mortal saviors
Deus ex machina
Forgetting
The kingdom of God lies within

Life is a waking dream
The light is not in the stars
The stars are in the light
Lay down the illusion
Why live the lie
Learn to manifest
Turn off the propaganda machines
In silence you can hear yourself think
Remember - I think, therefore, I am
I am that I am

What is truth
