I'm Civilized Now

Its hard to scrabble together words
Its like trying to capture feelings
When dry fitting stones

I remember cold mornings
Long draws on cigarettes
Last nights beer still clouding my mind

Ain't much different now
Just a helluva lot hotter
And I don't smoke

Don't drink boilermakers either
Let alone straight whiskey or beer
But I'm still pissed

And its still cloudy

I shoulda bought a Harley and rode west years ago
Been years since I rode
Longer since I've been west

I think the suns done set on that

If its gonna be dark might as well strike a match
Light a fuse
And burn a candle at both ends

Time to find myself
The one I put away to be civilized
I'm bout fed up with this woke, candy ass, PC shit

Time to redefine what's mine
Clarify what it means to be on my fightin' side
Had my fill of fair weather friends and good time buddies

Find a woman who wants to be a woman
Down to earth and has some grit
Knows how to make her man feel like a man

Country strong

Can't change the world but I can change mine
Live a life worth living
'stead of a long slow die

Its about time
