A Conversation with Dawne
I'm a Spiritual Pluralist, but like it's the 1980s, my quest for self-healing found me really wanting a church congregation to "belong" to, a whole group of people to believe in myself amongst, which is how i find myself Okay, being@theMormons. I think it's really weird. I said, Im gonna go join the Mormons to learn how to be transgender around. other humans. So far it's working out pretty well.

Mosquitoes are living creatures but I hate those vampires. I'm sorry Ali.
It's okay Ali, mosquitoes are no big thing. Buddha always says be sure to share.
Guess what, Ali! There was a man in a beard visiting from Utah who showed up to church in a purple polka dot dress today!
He introduced himself during the quorum and said, "If anyone is wondering about my attire, I'm interested in men's fashion and this is my way to share that men are Okay to not feel they must conform to a certain type of clothes, and that we don't have to shift gender definitions in order to not feel like we have to do so. (Nice wiffle-waffle, Polka-dots. Well done! Same reason i take testosterone-blockers and estrogen!) I love you, Polka-dot man!
Some obliquely directed consternation was had over this stranger-from-another-ward, expressed by a not old enough to be boomer, too old to be gen x guy who kept interjecting into the men's quorum with angrily rhetorical statement-questions about the state of sin in the world today (the quorum’s pre planned topic, coincidentally, was Unity) but the young missionaries and the recently post missionary age dudes sat there quite happily with Polka-dots in their midst.
It's a weird žing (thing). All the men and all the women have their own group "quorums" which everybody attends twice a month (which was yesterday, and then twice a month the groupings combine and everybody meets together. I really needed to learn how to get along with white-men, so that works out too.
I showed up on their church steps a few months ago of my own accord for those two reasons, but ordinarily it's the 18 to 24 year olds, which are like, 56% of the the church or something, who are tasked with finding people outside the church to to approach about inviting in.
As soon as i showed up the boy missionaries took my my phone number and gave it to the girl missionaries. It's a really weird thing in their žing!
