Desolated Adolescence

Oh how scarce a thing it has become;
That conflation of happiness and youth.
Whole eras of innocence are now spent numb,
Or worse, uneducated and uncouth!
How rare a thing is an unspoiled hide,
Or a character of honor and esteem
Where melancholy spirits are denied
From spoiling an unparalleled dream,
And the cheeks are not soaked in cliché tears
To punctuate the banal excuses
From every childhood of nightmare fears
Based on episodes of obscene abuses
Ever etching hearts into endless ache...
Confronted with forbearance...at Daybreak!
