Excruciation Exposed
My need feels prehistoric.
Before humans invented emotional gore.
The dread is lurid.
I want you back, pure.
My heart is amputated,
As you are rapidly fading.
Nothing would be more than what you
remember now.
How?
You laid your head next to me.
Child caring for mother.
I need to grieve.
What is there to grasp?
You can dress in a smile,
hell is still hell.
Agony laughs from the sewer of the soul.
I whisper.
I need you to be my mother once more.

Re. Excruciation Exposed
Your pain is pure, raw and poetically palpable, dear lady. Within that heavy heart beats profound beats of sorrow and memories flooding all around. I wholeheartedly empathize with that emotional place along with the longing and deep urge to grasp at the disappearing moments that seem to be slipping through your fingers. It's soul charing and often hard to reconcile any sense of it all in the current space of your here and now.
I am so grateful you have this outlet of writing poetry to help ease yourself, if even just the tiniest bit, during this difficult process.
Please know that this is excellent work of sharing yourself from the very deepest recesses a writer can access... that's where I know it's most difficult but also most brilliant.
Thank you for being brave enough to open yourself up
Much love and many hugs sent your way ✨
I'm thinking of you and yours.

Writing it did help. If my pain can help one other soul in pain, then exposing my vulnerability is worth it.
Thanks is not adequate a word for everything you said. You always inspire me. 💙

Sounds really intense. I am assuming you lost your mother, and this is a way to vent. In general, those things are always tough to deal with, and there is really no amount of proper support to take place of a loved one's death. I'm sorry for your loss. Anyway, you really capture the tragedy. Many different and unique transitions in your poem, in going from recollection to reflection to excruciating emotion. Some of your expression is difficult to swallow, because it seems so painful. The metaphor of an amputated heart reminds me of a missing member or "limb" of a family tree. Just my own interpretation. Well, again, I hope the venting of what torments you in this helps you to mend and heal.

Thank you. No my mom is still alive, but she's dying of dementia.
I appreciate all your comments, it was very hard to be so vulnerable, but I needed to be.
Again heartfelt thanks. 💜

Hi D,
Reading your work I am always reminded of your poetic flare, even when dealing with sombre topics. You are definitely talented for writing.
Your words capture the emotion.

(Hugs)
If you need a shoulder or an ear, you got it. I’m losing my mother also. I can definitely relate to that type of pain.
