Ink III

Ink coats the nib
thick
like blood
Flowing over the paper
black ribbons
across the page.

Letters as beautiful
as the words they create.
Jagged letters making
fearful, angry, painful words.
Puddling smeared ink
of grief and despair.

Like a silent god receiving prayers,
the page receives it all.
A repository of words
and emotions
made tangible.

Author's Note
I am rather obsessed with ink. It seems like a recurring writing prompt for me. This may become a series. The numbers delimit poems with the same theme.  I adore writing poetry with a dip pen and Sumi ink. Writing has the effect of making ideas real and tangible.
All writing remains the property of the author. Don't use it for any purpose without their permission.
