My place is no showplace
replete with fragile
dust magnets,
museum piece furnishings encircled
by invisible red velvet ropes
be my comfortable guest
lay about on the sofas
walk hither and thither
wearing shoes or not
no room verboten
no carpet reserved
for special occasions
clothing, while not
completely optional,
is by no dress code bound
so, let your hair down
or up, or cue ball shaven
you'll be not judged
it's a be-yourself haven.

Ugh I love my home. It's not the biggest, not the newest, but it's got all my books and plants. It kinda looks like a jungle, but I love it! And so do all who come for food :) this made me lovingly proud! I know it's a lame sentiment, but it's all I got!

Dear, Jenny
Your comment makes me smile and feel warm inside. You mention two of my favorite, most consoling things, food and books. It's the mark of a true haven when friends and famiy enjoying being within it's walls. Also, your "jungle" described somehow increased my oxygen level. Thank you so much🥰

Don't get me started! I'm not going on a plant tirade, though I want to, because I surmise you have lots too, but if you don't, just in case... They're great for air quality like you said! Namely, the dirt removes toxins from the atmosphere depending on the plant! Sorry, I had to. Plants are awesome.

Ooooo...I never thought of the filtration benefit of the soil...that's awesome❣ Sadly, I don't have any houseplants but you've got me hankering to get one, or two, or three. You've prompted an epiphany. I have attempted growing things in my garden but, due to the Texas heat, everything burns. Duh! I can grow things inside or on the patio.🤪
Did you ever see the movie "Green Card?" The story takes place, primarily, in a New York apartment. In the apartment, on an enclosed balcony, one of the main protagionists, played by Andie MacDowell, has this greenhouse filled with gorgeous, lush plant life with this awesome misting system and a bench for sitting and soaking in the ambiance. I've waited to have somthing like that sine I saw that film.

Haha! Love the hideout idea. We definitely need our haven spaces get-away-from-it-all places.

Dear GW,
I’ll be there in time for supper! Despite the heat there and the idea of my skin being cooked off, I’ll be there. I loved this piece for its welcoming and relaxed spirit. It truly brought up my low spirits and I’m much obliged. Lovely write. H 🌷
