didnt we say goodbye
   long before we even gave it a try
when our voices lowered to a whisper
we traded peace for toxic figures
     dancing on our trauma
  we gave each other's names
battles won and lost
   choices proving all but naught
for capturing a moment under stars
to give a Life others wouldnt care

but words kept us clashing forwards
  pieces of puzzles we held, never loward
passing by without a second glance
giving birth to issues that we always ran
     from fight to fight holding it in
screaming out anxieties from our lens

and

with each drop we slowly began our end
   wrapped it bows to present each other but we pretend
        that somehow this is how we should lend

our hearts to one another
       our tears for another lover
   our minds to another cover
our lies to mend the other

-but in the end we lost, for we grew farther
