Nostalgic Memories

Romance was flowing like the rhytm of the river.
I loved you,so cookies for my love is what I made.
With cookies, made of sugar and love is how I showed my love.

But one cookie burned to crisp as the oven baked it.
But you still ate it,as sugar and spice was what I used to make it.
I put sprinkles on it,and told myself it's all fine.

I was enjoying myself, enjoying our chat, enjoying our time.
But one day,everything shattered.
At first,i thought you'd be flattered.

I complimented you about how you dress, even though inside I was a mess.
And I blush around you, still,I confess.
Because being with you made me feel less of a mess.

I used to be carefree, talking about my day.
But time took your presence away.
We used to talk everyday.

Now you live and study far away.
Unfortunately,no matter how much we want it,nothing stays the same.
The years pass and things change.

Like the things we would study,or the times we would play in the snow.
And forever, deep into our hearts, those memories would glow.
Shiny,valuable like gold.

But the happiness of those moments is something we'll always hold.
