The necessity
When you look at me
I cannot lie to thee
Damn you
I feel it too
Steady
Heavy
When you see through
Not even subtle
As your neck snaps
With a swift
Tongue lash
A question sporadically asked...
Damn you
That gaze keeps me awake
All night
Till day
Creeps into view
And again
I busy myself to be rid of you
Damn you
It's been a distance
Across the country
Where I dwindled
The knowledge of you
... I thought
Dwindled
But of course
I come back
To a disheveled man
Still beautiful
More beautiful now
Than I remembered
I lay awake solely
Waiting
To see you again
Every second
Every breath
Catches
Hard in my chest
Until the next
Meeting
Do not lecture me
Of loneliness
It is every time I turn away
And leave
It is a necessity
We
Are no good.
I cannot lie to thee
Damn you
I feel it too
Steady
Heavy
When you see through
Not even subtle
As your neck snaps
With a swift
Tongue lash
A question sporadically asked...
Damn you
That gaze keeps me awake
All night
Till day
Creeps into view
And again
I busy myself to be rid of you
Damn you
It's been a distance
Across the country
Where I dwindled
The knowledge of you

But of course

To a disheveled man
Still beautiful
More beautiful now
Than I remembered
I lay awake solely
Waiting
To see you again
Every second
Every breath
Catches
Hard in my chest
Until the next
Meeting
Do not lecture me
Of loneliness
It is every time I turn away
And leave
It is a necessity
We
Are no good.
