The Horonation

My horonation headache
kicked in just before bedtime
Alas, my name isn't Charles
my blood isn't blue
and I wasn't chosen by God
to rule a nation of greedy shopkeepers
so I could not banish my pain
to the farthest corner of a divided kingdom
or soothe it away by drooling over
my billion pound fortune
seven palaces
ten castles
twelve homes
fifty six cottages and
fourteen ancient ruins
at my disposal
while over 270,000 of my subjects
are homeless
including 123,000 children
Even the most ardent fan
of all that pomp and ceremony
must surely wonder
why he didn't pay for the shindig himself
and commence his reign
by putting a roof
over a few homeless heads
instead of grumbling
about the weight of his crown
