Distortion of Hope
Dawn reluctantly shed the dark
Only to emerge a dismal gray day.
A peculiar light struggles
upon my heart's horizon.
A hope distorted at my iniquitous fate.
Immune to the slay.
Pondering my quests in youth to
flee the absurdly mundane.
But when nightmares taint
one too many chambers in the mind.
The blatantly ordinary seems reasonably divine.

Dear D,
I really appreciated the irony in this poem. It strikes a chord for me because it took me forever to appreciate the beauty in the simple things in my world; a good book, a quiet walk, chat with friends. Lovely write. H🌷

It took me awhile too to savor the simple things.
Gratitude for those small, what some call boring, moments, because when tragic life circumstances move in, it's those simple joys we long to have back.

I love life and nature. The in between at times upsets my routine. I understand what you are dealing with. The answer, is in Faith. One has to believe in something. I think you write best, when you don't try to hard to fine words. Let the words come to you and don't go looking for them.

Tantra, in my understanding, is seeing the extraordinary in the ordinary.... definitely an awakening...happiness. Lawrence

I do see the extraordinary in the ordinary myself. I have a lot of darkness working against me, hence where this poem comes in. Thanks for reading!

Individual and unique. I really like the ending, as if it's a parable of sorts.

I'm so sorry you have understanding of this. But it helps knowing I'm not alone.
