Where Flora, Fauna And Beneficent Humans Gather Part 3
Look! Here come the marching bands
requisite element of a proper parade
rhythmic, harmonious nomads of music
representing the college championship combatants, others summoned
by special invitation
high schools from across nation,
and far flung countries
all high-stepping to the drum beat
in perfect synchronization
presenting unique orchestrations
of lively tunes composed
perhaps by Sousa,
Queen, or Kool & The Gang
Mire los jinetes a caballo
prancing horses thrill the crowd
Andalusians and other breeds
their riders arrayed in Spanish
and Mexican caballero attire
representing old California
days of Catholic, adobe missions
and spacious haciendas
then come the dancers
bailadores folcloricos
to Mariachi music twirling
in wide-brimmed,
silver studded sombreros,
vibrant, multicolored dresses,
red rose adorned tresses
The parade passes,
the throng disperses
fond memories remain
of kind works
flowers, horses dancing, and song
hope filled new year marches on
