Harmonious Family Dynamic - Sixth Movement
First and favorite cousin, French Horn
with cupped hand in bell inserted
creates beautiful, majestic tones
evoking lofty thoughts
Images of towering, alpine places
aerial views of nature’s magnificence,
expansive castled estates,
mother earth observed from space
Family counselor is the Conductor
sauntering on stage
to lead group therapy
assuring all members voices are heard
at the prescribed tempo, volume, and intensity
calming things when too rambunctious
Inciting frenzy when too restrained
compelling every facet of emotion
that is by the composer ordained

NaPo 2023 #27. I actually have a cousin who plays the French Horn in an orchestra. This is my last love letter to music...until I write another.

Bravo. Standing O. I enjoyed the images of all the instruments and how you utilized them amidst human behavior. I have thoroughly enjoyed this series of poems. I can totally see a young persons short story book with these poems. A wonderful blend of introducing the instrumentation in an orchestra and different personality types in humans. Excellent piece.
