Emotional Warfare

In my heart a battle wages on,
A war I fight alone.
Emotions clash and tear apart,
Leaving me with wounds unknown.

The battlefield is in my mind,
And every thought's a foe.
I hold my ground, but with each step,
I feel my strength let go.

Sadness swings its heavy blade,
And anger strikes with hate.
Fear brings me down to my knees,
And hope seems just too late.

But still I fight, I won't give up,
I'll never let them win.
For every blow that I withstand,
Strength grows from deep within.

I'll wage this war until the end,
Until I'm free from pain.
And though the battle takes its toll,
I know I'll rise again.

For I am stronger than I thought,
And love will find its way.
I'll conquer my emotional battles,
And see a brighter day.
