My love (the ventriloquist)
I kissed the air farewell
just to welcome a thirst for more.
This need to breathe wakes my death,
and suffocates me with your sophistry,
with your
beautiful deceit.
Your smile fills me with belonging
and lays me where I don't.
I know the scandal dancing
behind those virtuous eyes, yet
I'm charmed and condemned,
on both knees
awaiting my demise.
Crucify me in the morning
then resurrect my ghost,
for you rewrote all the scriptures
and printed me in bibles
to possess a loving zombie
who walks dead
by your side.
Drive your fingers through my spine
and show me how I dance.
Your shadow will always be yours,
but it's shaped
like someone else.
just to welcome a thirst for more.
This need to breathe wakes my death,
and suffocates me with your sophistry,
with your
beautiful deceit.
Your smile fills me with belonging
and lays me where I don't.
I know the scandal dancing
behind those virtuous eyes, yet
I'm charmed and condemned,
on both knees
awaiting my demise.
Crucify me in the morning
then resurrect my ghost,
for you rewrote all the scriptures
and printed me in bibles
to possess a loving zombie
who walks dead
by your side.
Drive your fingers through my spine
and show me how I dance.
Your shadow will always be yours,
but it's shaped
like someone else.
