random wisdom

he never read a book or parsed a verb
the old man domiciled around the kerb
no formal calculus or theorem blend
or learning curves with which pale minds contend

the wisdom of the years glows in his eyes
who parries not with blatant compromise
for only solomon had mental space
superior to this wizard of our race

of times and seasons, galaxies and stars
secrets he spills of heaven's vast memoirs
life's oceandepths of mercy, truth, and love
he ratifies from angelstores above

he labours not against the powers of death
but lives for everyman with every breath
a father to the world, like abraham,
he dies to save the lost, like Christ the Lamb
