I can understand where this is coming from I think, sometimes we're powerless before loss in whatever form, for a time, we're there with the darkness of it. A shadowed cleave creates a strong impression. I love the way you've formatted it in particular, the staccato of cadence. Especially Lost chances, standing alone, starkly. To be wingless, a great metaphor conveying many things.
