Oft, i struggle to be creative
a feel of zero imagination
absolutely no allegory
no irony, not even simile

(At four in the morning)
i try to visualize
written verses
fun & wild as a rapid river
birdliming my mind
whilst screaming aloud
from a barrel barreling
over a waterfall
For some eerie reason
a metaphor knocked me over
She said her name is Brook
She didn’t appear bedraggled
and stayed to chat only
long enough for the time
It took to trickle through
my fingers

Since April began,
