Luna illusion

As the moon rose one quiet night
Full, so clear and silver bright
I felt it's power on my flesh
With gentle fingers and baby's breath
Lift me above this silent land
With solemn, enchanted, pale hand
Then looming large the shining mantel
Enveloping me in silken grandeur
Face so near radiating eternal wonder
l wander for hours and days unnumbered
In seas of dust and plains I rome
Craters, caverns, valleys smooth as bone
Secrets, knowledge, mysterys foretold
Gathered and drawn from the universe old
I cannot hope to fathom this majesty
But hints of truth in divine tapestry
Till Newton's gravity reached my apogee
Pull this mortal down from blissful union
To await once more a luna illusion
