Shades of Darkness: A Portrait of Goth and Emo Love and Loneliness.
The darkness calls, a siren's song
To those who feel they don't belong
The goth, the emo, the lonely souls
Who find solace in shadows, in black holes
The pain, the sorrow, the tears they cry
Are all part of the goth, emo, why
They see the world in shades of grey
And find beauty in the decay
Their hearts are heavy, burdened with pain
But they wear it like a badge of shame
Their scars a symbol of their fight
Against a world that's far too bright
The darkness is their sanctuary
A place where they can be free
To be themselves, to let it out
To scream, to cry, to shout.
But even in the darkness, they seek love
A light to guide them from above
Someone who sees them for who they are
Who won't judge or leave a scar
They long for a connection, a soulmate true
Who understands their pain and their view
Who will hold them close and never let go
Who will stay with them until the final blow
But for many, love is just a dream
A distant hope, a silent scream
And so they dwell in the dark alone
Their hearts forever turned to stone
So let us not judge, but embrace
The goth, the emo, the lonely face
For they are human, just like we
With hearts that long to be set free.
To those who feel they don't belong
The goth, the emo, the lonely souls
Who find solace in shadows, in black holes
The pain, the sorrow, the tears they cry
Are all part of the goth, emo, why
They see the world in shades of grey

Their hearts are heavy, burdened with pain
But they wear it like a badge of shame
