WHERE'S THE JOY OF Love?
WHERE'S THE JOY OF LOVE?
Love's not to exploit but give
what you have or even more
as your aim is to behold
whom you love is full of cheer.
Life for you will have one aim
not to live it for yourself
but to make that whom you love
see what's charming in it's folds.
Life gets hard for you to live.
Where is joy that love can grant?
There's no joy you chase for self
but for whom you fear their sighs.
Love is not a piece of sweet
that confers on you delight.
It's a burden causing pain
through it's harshness lurks your heights.

You say
there is no joy in love.
It only causes pain.
And so
from giving of ourselves
to “that who” is
our love’s
enhancing, not exploititative aim
we should with might
refrain
so as to keep
away the harshness that
will hide itself
and lay in wait
to pounce on us
and do us harm
should we achieve
whatever is our height..
And yet your Lord
has said
again and then again
that he who does reach
in love to all
to even, yes, his enemy
is one who cannot be
his faithful follower
or have a part in him..
In fact, he said
if you refuse to love
for fear of being hurt
then he will turn his face
from you
and place you well
outside
of his redeeming grace,
for you
engage in damning sin.
