Linear Time in the Great War

A plot line seems easier to follow when it runs in a straight line from start to finish; beginning, middle and end, so I understand why people favor a view of time that excludes other possibilities. But that doesn’t make it right. The Bible does not describe time as linear, but relative. Observation of our natural world also reveals different time lines running at different speeds or even directions!

However every curse has a cause, and that means every plot line crossing our paths has order even if we somehow failed to notice. If you are reading this, some prior cause made you start, and subsequently, you will finish with another cause. Perhaps you simply finish at the end or even lose interest halfway through.

God gives order and logical boundaries to our environment so we can have the experience we have been given. He puts us into our bodies like putting a record player’s head on the surface of a record. This is the beginning of time as we feel it on earth, but not the beginning of all things. In fact we know every moment that ever happened - or will happen - already exists, because God is the beginning and the end.

When you are lifted from the record player of this dimension, time ceases to exist for you in the plane you just exited. From this new dimension, looking back into our familiar timeline, hell is but one dreadful day and also it exists to witness for all eternity. As does the birth of Jesus and the creation of the world.

But in Methodism, Adventism and Fred Wright’s book Behold Your God, there seems to be a theme of linear time, as though nothing else exists. Just one timeline, which leaves a lot to be answered. If anyone believes they can justify this with scripture, I’d love to compare notes. I think the Bible has already debunked linear time pretty well.

The  fifth chapter of Behold Your God asserts that suddenly a movement of men, of glorious, Godly character, will lighten the whole earth so that even wicked men see the light of their goodness. This directly contradicts John 1. Darkened minds will not see the light, even as it shines on them.

The wicked are ever learning and never coming to the knowledge of God. If they are darkened they can no more see our good character than God’s.  That is why they perish, against what God would give anyone seeking Him.

“Let every true child of God give this topic the place of importance it deserves in order to develop his character accordingly.” - F.W.
