The night sky is just a charred world
Last night
We decided to alter
the collision course that
tends to always reset itself
(it did not.)
I yanked you from stale inertia
Your mouth singed mine
as a star bled light
somewhere
(it still is.)
We abandoned civility
because love never
needs a prison
(it is enough.)
As you stripped me of my lies
I tore your garb, chewed
your ribcage
(I heard the plaintive song.)
I bit your heart
and spat
Vesuvius
Last night
I lifted you, held your legs, dragged you close
to enter your core
(deeper)
But oblivion eluded me
instead, we stumbled and fell
onto each other,
Two dolls washed ashore
We belonged somewhere
Once
Now only the waves
And the night that became
the sea.
We decided to alter
the collision course that
tends to always reset itself
(it did not.)
I yanked you from stale inertia
Your mouth singed mine
as a star bled light
