Morning, Night, and Day
small reminders of you
are scattered upon the world
like breadcrumbs you've left
making it easier
to find my way back to you
you're always there
not always with me
but living in my head
in the memories that reply
like a broken record
or a favorite movie
you can't stop rewatching
you're in the flowers I pick
the stars I love watching
filing the whole sky with light
you're in the jokes I laugh to
the poems I write
the same ones you call beautiful
the ones I find sacred
too scared to share with the world
yet I read them to you
you're in the night drives
I use to get you off my mind
you're in the music that blast
filling the space
you're in the air I breathe
in the heart that fills
my once empty chest
there's pieces of you
in everything my eyes meet
every noise my ears pick up on
every touch my skin feels
morning
night
and day
you're all my thoughts
my brightest dreams
my hopes and wishes
you are my everything
are scattered upon the world
like breadcrumbs you've left
making it easier
to find my way back to you
you're always there
not always with me
but living in my head
in the memories that reply
like a broken record
or a favorite movie
you can't stop rewatching
you're in the flowers I pick
the stars I love watching
filing the whole sky with light
you're in the jokes I laugh to
the poems I write
the same ones you call beautiful
the ones I find sacred
too scared to share with the world
yet I read them to you
you're in the night drives
I use to get you off my mind
you're in the music that blast
filling the space
you're in the air I breathe
in the heart that fills
my once empty chest
there's pieces of you
in everything my eyes meet
every noise my ears pick up on
every touch my skin feels
morning

my brightest dreams
my hopes and wishes
you are my everything
