Drifter's Lonely Search

A drifter wanders through the night,
Alone and lost, with no respite,
He's searching for a love that's true,
But it seems it's out of view.

He walks the streets and alleyways,
And watches as the people play,
With hearts entwined and hands held tight,
Their love, a beacon in the night.

But he can't seem to find his own,
No matter how far he has roamed,
He's been to places far and wide,
But love still seems to hide.

The drifter longs to feel the touch,
Of someone he loves so much,
To hold them close and feel their heart,
To never be torn apart.

But as he roams from place to place,
The pain within begins to trace,
A pattern of a heart so still,
That he fears may never fill.

And so he walks alone at night,
A drifter with no end in sight,
Searching for the love he craves,
A love that's lost among the waves
