Peace
I seek the peaceable things
Love and friendship
And the quiet places
Where only nature speaks
The wonder of stars and moonlight's glow
Early morning mists rising above the river
And lowlands soft covered
By threadbare wisps of white
Dew silvered lawns and fields
Now covered in winters frosty sheen
That pregnant breath between night and day
When stillness lies
The sun warm and up on high
Glimpsed between the trees
Still waiting for their leaves
A good book or the good book
Someone to share a good laugh
Or just the chance to share
A good word or crust of bread with anyone
Just the chance to be
The best that I can be
Especially on the bad days
The days when all goes wrong
To show my quality
Rather than burden be
To hold my tongue or turn my cheek
Or hold loved ones in a warm embrace
I seek for peaceable things
Love and friendship
And the quiet places
Where only nature speaks
The wonder of stars and moonlight's glow
Early morning mists rising above the river
And lowlands soft covered
By threadbare wisps of white
Dew silvered lawns and fields
Now covered in winters frosty sheen
That pregnant breath between night and day
When stillness lies
The sun warm and up on high
Glimpsed between the trees
Still waiting for their leaves
A good book or the good book
Someone to share a good laugh
Or just the chance to share
A good word or crust of bread with anyone
Just the chance to be
The best that I can be
Especially on the bad days
The days when all goes wrong
To show my quality
Rather than burden be
To hold my tongue or turn my cheek
Or hold loved ones in a warm embrace
I seek for peaceable things
