Flip-flops in the Sand
Fine grained sand
carried on the breeze
becoming dunes
that bury our dreams
like tired flip-flops in the sand
waiting
for winter storms
to wash the dunes to sea
our lives uncovered by the tides
our dreams reborn in the sand
as seas of doubt
break upon the shores
in an endless dance
of fine grained sand
as we climb the dunes
in an effort to find
lost dreams or
maybe flipflops in the sand
