Play Thing
Even, in front of the shadows,
You can remain unseen
We'll wonder why
Why the future left us
Why we were left here
Staring at the white flag
Placed before us
With no hands to hold it
Tied behind our backs
Left staring
Wondering why
Knowing how
I spill my heart into a mirror
And watch you stare in wonder
You play this song
Over and over and again
I smile and dance
I suffer through the pain
I pull the string
You shove me to the side
I try to play my own
You leave me here alone
I love you
Even though
You're killing me
Some things are written in the stars
Some things are written in scars
Sometimes you're a play thing
Other times you're nothing
You can remain unseen
We'll wonder why
Why the future left us
Why we were left here
Staring at the white flag
Placed before us
With no hands to hold it
Tied behind our backs
Left staring
Wondering why
Knowing how
I spill my heart into a mirror
And watch you stare in wonder
You play this song
Over and over and again
I smile and dance
I suffer through the pain
I pull the string
You shove me to the side
I try to play my own
You leave me here alone
I love you
Even though
You're killing me
Some things are written in the stars
Some things are written in scars
Sometimes you're a play thing
Other times you're nothing
