WHAT IS LOVE?
Love used to be beautiful when letters were licked and sealed
Love used to be sweet in the days of Afros and baggy jeans
Love used to be simple and a natural inclination
Love used to be a wounded souls final destination
Days,months and years rolled by
To the days of emojis and fast reply
I saw the one thing adored by many die
Love in my day is treated like trash
Greed, social status, religion and financial status are the shackles of true love
Since the inception of these negative attitudes
Love has been weeping and gnashing her teeth
Marriages fail and disappointment prevails
Relationship breaks and hatred takes the form of two common phrases
“Men are trash”
“Women are evil”
When will our so called love be buried and forgotten?
When will we learn to read between the lines when will we learn to appreciate love?
When will we finally come to a realization that what we experience as love is mostly like and not love?
When will we learn to see the beauty in simplicity?
Think of love as the Mona Lisa and yourself as the viewer
Do you want love to smile at you or do you want love to frown at you?
All depends on your perspective of love.
