A Sister's Toast
Dan and Diane,
once separate
now a pair;
joined together
on this day so fair.
Surrounded by family,
by friends,
loving hearts abound;
sharing this occasion
of commitment so sound.
To my sister, Diane, with
whom I've shared a lifetime as kin;
growing up we've had moments,
a pain in the ass you have been.
But I've loved you so dearly
the whole of my life;
so caring, so kind
- and a loving mother -
with a genius mind.
To my new brother, Dan,
who likes to fix cars;
happy and sarcastic,
likes his Guinness at the bars.
But a true man is he,
a nature commendable;
so loving, so gentle
- now to join our family -
what, are you mental?
So to the both of you, congrats,
may you live long and prosper;
to be true to each other
is all you need offer.
