Sheets

I looked at her sheets
Stared at them
She was there
Beneath them
My eyes followed every curve of her anatomy
Flowed with the peaks and valleys
Of her silhouette
Will she let me take a peek
Under her sheets?

She was a mystery...
Her sheets...a maze
That set my mind ablaze
Because I knew...
I knew she was under there
But I couldn't see her
I could only visualize her...
Through her sheets

She would shift and turn sometimes
As if nightmares stalked her
Then at times lay perfectly still
So peaceful and serene
And yet other times she seemed to be
Having wet dreams
I like those...
The way she would squirm and moan

I wonder....

How long have she been alone
Under those sheets
Would she like to share...
Could she spare...
Some space....
Under her sheets

I don't think so
Besides... She may be alone...
But I don't think she's lonely...
Under her sheets
She likes the space
Simply because its all hers
Her personal place
I dig that
And I respect that

Ahh well....

I'll just continue
Looking at her sheets
Visualizing them one page at a time
And just enjoy the reading
Of her poetic memoirs
