Heart of the Universe

In a crystalline realm there is little room for soft bodied life. The mammals of the human Universe would not do so well here, except in pockets of green spaces on the many crysalized plenets and moons sparkling in lovely blue and green starlight.

The transwarp ship, Cosmosis, that brought our family here had simply functioned too perfectly. It had gone above and beyond the designs parameters entirely. Who knew? It would take a large 12 member family to another dimension of real space. Yet very separate and zero tendrils of any sort of hyperspace links to it could be found from the old earth space. A completely alternate realm of possible reality without comparison. Until now.

It was the crystals they discovered that held sway over the entirety of this universe. Not only did they occupy space itself but also the smallish planetoids found floating amongst the larger bubble like crystals freely filling up most of the space of this realm. How did one travel in such tightly woven space??!

It was soon seen that the transwarp ship did not need its warp drive to travel easily through telescope like tunnels weaving all through space like spiders web. In fact as they moved through this universe things seemed to open up whenever they felt stuck in a dead end or too tiny a tunnel then it became oddly wider or continued onward. It was overlooked or being distracted by the stress of trying to find a habitable planet to land on.

The alterations were subtle and as refined as thought itself. Two of the families sisters were most taken with this new universe. They decided to name it before they ever tried to find home again. Once a proper landing planet was found they quickly saw that the air was impossible to breath. Not to worry, the planet obliged their every wish and command for life sustenance.

They still hadn’t noticed anything visually amiss as this seemed to take a few hours to occur unless there was life endangerment. It all depended on the urgency of thought and action towards their intentions. It was odd very surely, then became oddly frightening after a week of these changes seeming to change soon after the explorers would return to their base camp or whenever their thoughts were focussed enough on a particular need.

Tyla and Kahlia were walking to the only forested area of a tiny pseudo planet of giants to microscopic crystals of liquid opulence of every imaginable color. Many seemed dirty brown or clear as glass at times. Just before any obvious changes would occur. As they approached this field of jade green and emerald trees they stopped short of the clearing. There weren’t many clear areas anywhere in space or on planet. Navigation was limited to myriad paths between open air spaces. Even the air felt green with envy at the beauty they found themselves in, however.

One of the sisters decided she missed having fish for dinner one afternoon, but by planet standards, that was about 20 hrs. roughly estimated by their parents. Before they could say boo a pond appeared in front of them as a hazy, then shimmering then glistening rippled surface with clearest blue water and a multitude of fishes bubbling the surface.

The sisters were stunned. They looked at each other and mutually decided this planet was reading their thoughts and more powerfully every time they needed something badly enough or just made a wish. As if the crystals were tuning in to their mental/emotional frequencies over shorter periods of time than at first and therefore held them in stasis when not directly being influenced by anyones desires.
