I Held On So Long.
Those manicured fingers
scratching down your back,
do they know where you sleep?
Do they know what you have?
'Cause I know it's not much,
and now it's even less.
As I leave you alone,
tears slide down my dress.
Those red lips on your ear,
do they kiss you like me?
Have they given you secrets?
Have they made you scream?
Her honey-blonde hair,
wrapped up in your hands,
is it on your pillow?
Does it feed your demands?
Those darling brown eyes,
looking you over....
Did you know they watched me leave,
scanning over your shoulder?
scratching down your back,
do they know where you sleep?
Do they know what you have?
'Cause I know it's not much,
and now it's even less.
As I leave you alone,
tears slide down my dress.
Those red lips on your ear,
do they kiss you like me?
Have they given you secrets?
Have they made you scream?
Her honey-blonde hair,
wrapped up in your hands,
is it on your pillow?
Does it feed your demands?
Those darling brown eyes,
looking you over....
Did you know they watched me leave,
scanning over your shoulder?
